About this Event
Working to tackle domestic abuse, support the victims and their children and deal effectively with perpetrators is a complex, multi-agency activity in all parts of Scotland. However when it takes place on one of our many islands there are particular challenges and barriers that must be considered. This webinar looks at the experiences of professionals in Orkney and Argyll and Bute and aims to facilitate a discussion on experience and best practice amongst attendees, and initiatives designed to help.
Mandy Sheridan, will provide an overview of the challenges experienced by practitioners, while Zelda Bradley will focus in on her work to support survivors affected by sexual violence in remote communities.
Our two speakers
Mandy Sheridan has worked in Social Work for 35 years, is currently a Service Improvement Officer with the Argyll and Bute HSCP and is the Chair for the Argyll and Bute VAWG Partnership
Zelda Bradley has worked in the Third Sector for the last 15 years, is currently Service Manager of Orkney Rape & Sexual Assault Service (ORSAS) and Vice-Chair for Orkney Domestic Abuse Forum(inc. VAWP)
