This child protection training is aimed at people in early years and childcare settings.
The course is designed to help frontline workers recognise child protection concerns and know how to respond to fulfil their shared responsibilities of protecting children and safeguarding their wellbeing.
By the end of this training participants will:
Understand what is meant by ‘it’s everyone’s responsibility to protect children’.
Be familiar with current multi-agency legislation and policy, and how this applies to their work place setting.
Understand child abuse and recognise child protection concerns.
Know what to do if they have a concern about a child.
Be aware of the different ways children communicate and considered how abuse and neglect might impact on a child’s communication.
Have considered when and how to raise children’s wellbeing concerns with parents & carers.
Know when to seek appropriate support/supervision and where to look for this
