Westlands Recycling Centre

SnowflakeAll of the household rubbish and recycling centres will be closed on 25th and 26th December 2020, and on 1st and 2nd January 2021

Social distancing
In order to keep both staff and customers safe, please ensure you follow social distancing rules when using the site, and stay 2m apart from staff and other customers

If any sites become too busy or full, or if too much traffic is queueing, the site may need to be closed temporarily.

Disposing of your waste within the site
In order to keep customers and site staff safe, staff will not help you dispose of your waste. Please only bring what you can safely lift from your vehicle into the containers.

All restrictions on the use of the site are designed to keep customers and staff safe, meaning the site can continue to operate. Please treat site staff with respect and understand that they are performing a difficult job in order to provide you with more waste disposal options.

Please do not go to the site if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19.

What can you take there?

Householders can bring various items  to the site for recycling/recovery. These items include paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, cans, tins, empty aerosols, car batteries, household batteries, green garden waste, any (large or small) electrical or battery operated item, scrap metal, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, glass bottles and jars, textiles, *engine oil, rubble and wood.

Other household rubbish and items can be brought to the site for onward disposal

* We are working with our contract partner Renewi to improve the way engine oil can be disposed of at Westlands. In short term, the site can take oil, from householders, in a sealed container but we would ask that you call ahead to let them know you
intend to drop it off. The phone number is: 01546 603795.

If you have clean furniture, textiles or working electrical items you can contact Fyne Futures  on 01700 503181. These items can be re-used by Fyne Futures if in a suitable condition
