An election is to be held for a Member of Parliament (MP) to serve in the Argyll and Bute County Constituency on 08 June 2017. MPs are elected under the First Past the Post system, and in this election, voters must mark their ballot paper with an X in the box beside their chosen candidate.

Registering to vote
If you are already registered to vote, you do not need to re-register. If you are not already registered to vote, you need to do so by 5pm on Monday 22 May 2017 to be able to vote in the 2017 UK Parliamentary General Election.Register to vote now

Postal and Proxy voting
Applications to cancel or alter existing postal or proxy votes, or to change from postal to proxy voting must reach the Electoral Registration Officer, Kilbrannan House, Bolgam Street, Campbeltown PA28 6HZ no later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 23 May 2017.
New Applications to vote by post must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the above address no later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 23 May 2017.
New Applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the above address no later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017.
If as the result of a disability an elector becomes incapacitated after 5.00pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017 or discovers after that deadline that they will be unable to go to the poll for occupational, employment or service reasons, an application to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the above address no later than 5.00pm on the day of the poll.
