Amber light Roads
Chalmers Street, Ardrishaig - one lane closed for building works Last updated: 18 Jun 2019 - 10:05 (originally posted: 10 May 2019 - 10:27)

Update - Tuesday 18th June
A full structural (specially designed) scaffold is being erected and is expected to be completed by week ending 5th July 2019. It is hoped that once the scaffold has been completed and certified as fit for purpose by the Engineer, the road will be able to be fully re-opened.

Update - Wednesday 29th May:
Building work is ongoing to make the building safe, and the one-lane road closure and traffic lights are likely to remain in place for at least the next 3 weeks to ensure the safety of the public around the building

Update - Thursday 23rd May:
The scaffolding has now been erected and work on the building has started. The lane closure will remain in place while building works are ongoing.

UPDATE TUESDAY 14 MAY 11.30am: Scaffolding is expected to be erected over the coming weekend to allow for repair work to be carried out. The lane closure will remain in the place in the meantime.

The A83 Chalmers Street in Ardrishaig is restricted to one lane for a short stretch due to a dangerous building.

Building work is required at the Slainte Bar, and the council’s Building Standards team have deemed it necessary to shut off the single lane of the road adjacent to the building until the property is made safe.

It is anticipated that scaffolding will be erected while defective lintels are replaced. Temporary traffic lights are in place to minimise disruption caused by the closure of one lane, and the bus stop outside the Slainte Bar is temporarily out of use.

Further updates will be provided as they become available.
