Emergency Road Closure Ardrishaig Last updated: 14 Feb 2019 - 16:29 (originally posted: 26 Jan 2019 - 14:03)

UPDATE 4.30pm 14 Feb 2019:

Park Road and Glengilp in Ardrishaig have this afternoon re-opened to cars and pedestrians following work carried out by contractors on the fire-damaged building in Park Road.

Kilduskland Road remains closed in the meantime while further remedial work is carried out on the former church, and we will issue updates on this as soon as we have them.

We once again thank residents and pupils and parents of Ardrishaig Primary School for their patience and understanding while this important work was carried out.

UPDATE 2.25pm 4 Feb 2019:

Contractors are on site preparing to make the fire-damaged building safe, which will allow the road to be reopened. Updates on when the road is likely to open again will be issued as available.

Ardrishaig Primary School’s Facebook page is also posting updates that are relevant to pupils and parents. We thank parents and residents for their patience and understanding while this important work is carried out and we are working to safely return things to normal as soon as possible.

Temporary Traffic Management and Access to the Primary School

A residential property on Park Road Ardrishaig (the former church) has been significantly damaged in a building fire.

Park Road and Kilduskland Road remain closed at their junction.

Areas are currently fenced off for public safety.

There is limited access to the primary school.

Access is available along West Bank Road.

Traffic management will be in place during school pick up and drop off times and delays are expected during this period.

Nursery and p1 children should come to school by their usual arrangements - cars should use West Bank Road.

If your child walks to school, they should come as normal, although they should avoid West Bank Road.

Access is possible from Kilduskland Road using the pedestrian diversion.

If your child is usually dropped off at school please drop them at the pick-up point on  Kilduskland Road (at the road closure).

The school will provide a "walking bus "at 8.45am and another one at 8.55am.

Could families please make sure children wear suitable footwear as part of this walk may be muddy.

Please allow additional time as we expect congestion in the mornings.

At home time please pick up as normal. Cars can wait in Park Road however this will require a 3 point turn on the road so please park considerately.

We know that the fire has caused a lot of disruption for everyone and we thank you for your patience.

The Council's Roads staff will continue to operate and monitor the Temporary Traffic Management plan to mimimise disruption for all traffic in and around Ardrishaig.
