We require general details such as your name and contact detail. However for the purposes of this specific service, the personal data we require includes special category information about you (also known as ‘sensitive personal data’ which may include race / ethnic origin, religious beliefs or health details. These are detailed on the Transport for Early Learning and Childcare application form.
When we are using this more sensitive type of personal information, our legal basis is usually that we require the information for reasons of substantial public interest for aims that are proportionate and which contain appropriate safeguarding measures

To consider if assistance for transport is available for you to access early learning and childcare
We need to know this basic personal data in order to provide you with the services we provide that you have requested and to establish our rights in relation to those services. If you do not provide this information then we will be unable to assess your request. We will not collect any personal data from you that isn’t needed for delivery of those services.
The legal basis for collecting your information in these circumstances is:
Public Interest: The Education Authority is not obliged to provide transport for children accessing early learning and childcare settings, however Argyll and Bute recognises the rurality of its geography and will consider if your request for assistance can be granted.
All of the information we collect from you will be processed by staff in the United Kingdom.
