Hermitage Park, Sinclair Street, Helensburgh has recently undergone a £3.6 million transformation following funding from a range of partners.  These improvements have resulted in an increase in people using the Park.
 
The Council is offering for lease an area of ground extending to approximately 90 sq.m within the Park and to the rear of the Victoria Halls, as shown in blue on the attached plan.
 
This is a unique opportunity for any existing or new business to gain exclusive use of a site within the park and to benefit from direct access to the wider park area.  
 
A successful operator can use the site for the development/location of a small storage facility and PT/group exercise classes subject to obtaining any necessary statutory consents. 
 
Use of the wider park setting is also an option and, if required, a non-exclusive licence allowing further exercise activities within areas of the park will be available.
 
The Council is seeking a fitness operator who is committed in helping, developing and promoting the Park as a local greenspace where the community feel welcome; where they can improve their mental and physical wellbeing and where all ages and abilities can enjoy this fantastic public space.
 
PLANNING
 
The site lies within the Upper Helensburgh Conservation Area and may be suitable for development of a small scale storage facility taking into consideration its setting and having due regard to any national or local constraints and subject to appropriate assessment through a planning application.

Any offers should be submitted before the closing date of Friday, 4th March 2022 at 12 noon.  Any offers submitted after the closing date may not be considered.
 
Bidders should note the following information will be required: 
 
Offer of rent (in figures and words), exclusive of rates;
 
Duration of lease being sought;
 
Bidding party’s name;
 
Details of proposed use;
 
Evidence of Financial status/backing and deliverability; N.B The Council may request agents to carry out a credit check.  The Council may not consider offers from parties in circumstances where parties hold outstanding debt with the Council.
 
Any other relevant information relating to associated social, economic, environmental or community benefits; and
 
Legal representative details.
