Primary School Registration 2018

Registration of new primary school pupils - 15th to 19th January 2018

Children who reach their fifth birthday between 1 March 2018 and 28 February 2019 should be registered for primary school during the week beginnning Monday 15 January 2018.

Parents should take their children to their local primary school to register during that week, between 10am and 3pm. If your child is not already receiving pre-school education in Argyll and Bute, you should bring their birth certificate with you when you register.

Gaelic Medium Education is available in the following schools: 

Bowmore Primary School, Islay; Tiree Primary School, Tiree; Salen Primary School, Mull; Bunessan Primary School, Mull; Rockfield Primary School, Oban; Strath of Appin Primary School, by Oban and Sandbank Primary School, Dunoon.

Placing Requests

Placing requests are when you apply to send your child to a different school from your catchment area. If you wish to make a placing request to send your child to a different school, you should register them for primary school at your local catchment school, then apply for a placing request by 16th March 2018.
