The consultation period ended on 20th August 2012, and we would like to thank everyone who took part and gave us their views. The next steps in the Local Development Plan process can be seen in the Development Plan Scheme.

Argyll and Bute Council has just carried out a Potential Additional Sites Consultation as a follow on from the  Main Issues Report of the Local Development Plan. The potential additional sites have been identified following analysis of responses to the Main Issues Report. There is also an Addendum to the Environmental Report which accompanied the Main Issues Report, this contains the Environmental Checklists for the additional sites and forms part of the interim Strategic Environmental Assessment: Environmental Report (SEA) for the proposed plan.

It is intended that the inclusion of additional sites for a range of different uses in the Proposed Local Development Plan will add capacity for housing, community and  economic opportunities during the five year period covered by the plan. The sites included in the consultation document are considered potential suitable candidates for development and, subject to the outcome of the consultation, may be included in the proposed Local Development Plan in addition to those identified in the Main Issues Report.
