Town Centre Shopfront Improvement Grant 2020/21

Grant programme supported work opportunities for local tradespeople, and aimed to help the region’s towns become more attractive places in which to live, work, visit and invest.

Using Town Centre Funding, provided by the Scottish Government, Argyll and Bute Council supported 130 local business owners in Oban, Helensburgh, Garelochhead, Kilcreggan, Lochgilphead, Tarbert, Tobermory, Bowmore, Campbeltown and Dunoon invest in their shopfronts through the provision of grants. £221,411 was awarded in total. 

The grant programme also supported work opportunities for local tradespeople, and aimed to help the region’s towns become more attractive places in which to live, work, visit and invest.

A new round of shopfront improvement grant for 2021/22 has been made possible via the Scottish Government Place Based Investment Fund. Information on the new fund and relevant eligibility criteria can be found as follows:
