Update February 2013
This project is now complete
Update - June 2012
A new 200m shared use path, including a timber bridge directly linking the Lorn Road area of Dunbeg with the primary school (81 pupils). The project was developed in response to requests from the Community, the school and local members arising due to concerns relating to increased footfall generated by proposed development in the area and potential conflict with other road users. The project is due for completion by mid June 2012, and will cost £81,500. It has been funded by LEADER, Sustrans and Argyll and Bute Council and the contract has been awarded to Breedon Aggregates.
We are hoping to progress a link between the school in Dunbeg and the bus turning area, improving access to School Road and encouraging more pupils and parents to travel actively on the school journey. Funding has not yet been secured for this project.
