Members of the local community are encouraged to help shape a bid to the Making Places Initiative by dropping into an event at Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre on Tuesday, 3 October 2017 anytime between 10am and 4pm.

The Scottish Government's initiative encourages communities to positively and actively contribute to the development of their local places. Grants are available for community-led design projects focussed on tackling inequality and having an impact on combatting disadvantage. If successful further extensive engagement and consultation will take place in Spring next year.

The Making Places initiatives will support a wide range of processes, events and projects to actively involve communities in discussions about the future of their place. Grant funding will support community groups, third sector organisations and public authorities to take forward design processes relating to a particular place, or an aspect of a place.
