Beware of spoof council emails

Members of the public are being warned that an email that may look as if it has come from Argyll and Bute Council, asking them to reply with their details to secure a rebate from HMRC, is not genuine.

This is known as 'spoofing'. If you do receive an email with an address that has a random string of numbers and characters followed by the argyll-bute address after the @ symbol, or has a name with five or more numbers after it, please delete it.

If you have any doubts call 01546 605511.
