Are you looking for a good book to read by the pool this summer? If so, Argyll and Bute Council can help.
The Council has a large digital library of ebooks which are available free of charge.
It includes a number of novels by highly acclaimed authors such as Lee Child and Harper Lee, as well as international best seller and new Netflix series, Thirteen Reasons Why.
The digital library also has a selection of audio books available by downloading the app which is compatible with every desktop and mobile platform, including Windows, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android phones and tablets, Kindle Fire tablet, NOOK, Windows 8 PC and tablet and Windows phone.
At the moment this service is not compatiblewith Amazon’s Kindle e-book reader.
You need to be a library member to borrow eBooks, and you will need your library card number and PIN to log in and borrow eBooks
If you are not already a library member, you can join via the Council website. If you are already a member but do not know your PIN, contact your local library.
Once you are logged into the eBook library you can search for and download up to four books at a time, put up to four books on hold, and get access to hundreds more out-of-copyright title in addition to your normal checkout limit.
