People across Argyll and Bute are being urged to make sure they are registered to vote ahead of the council elections on 4 May.

Particular emphasis is being put on 16 and 17 year olds who will be eligible to vote.

To take part in the elections, voters must be registered by the end of Monday 17 April.

If you are not already registered to vote, you can register online - please visit: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

There are different ways in which to vote. You can vote in person at a polling station on the day, by post, or by proxy if you would like someone else to vote on your behalf.

However you choose to take part in the elections, you must be registered to vote.
