Members of the public are being warned that an email that may look as if it has come from the council, asking them to reply with their details to secure a rebate from HMRC, is not genuine.

This is known as “spoofing”. If you do receive an email with an address that has a random string of numbers and characters followed by the argyll-bute address after the @ symbol please delete it.

If you have any doubts call 01546 605511.
