Closure will allow urgent repair works on the bridge just north east of the Knock Farm and west of Gruline.

Bridge known as Knock Bridge

A bridge inspection by Argyll and Bute Council’s engineers has highlighted that urgent repair works need to be carried out to Knock bridge on the B8035.

Due to the narrowness of the bridge the road will have to close from Monday to allow the works to go ahead.

It is hoped that the works will be carried out over the course of the following two weeks, however it may take longer depending on what is found once works begin.

There is an alternative route via the A849 and the southern section of the B8035.

We would like to apologise, in advance, for any inconvenience this may cause.

When serious issues with any bridge on the public road network are highlighted immediate action is taken to ensure public safety.

Once works are completed we will have to consider what level of weight restriction will be necessary on the bridge in the future.
