Work is set to start on essential roadworks in Lochgilphead.

It is a £130,000 project and part of Argyll and Bute Council’s £3 million Capital Road Reconstruction Programme.

It will see Bishopton Road and part of the A816, either side of the junction, resurfaced. Drainage works on the A816 are also part of the scheme.

Work is set to start on 28 August until 5 September.

In order to carry out the works safely and minimise disruption to the public, the junction onto the A816 from Bishopton will be closed on 28 August and 31 August. This may alter due to weather or other delays and residents are asked to follow signs and traffic management on the roads.

The public are advised to use Bishopton Road for local access only as there will be delays passing through the works. The alternative route via the A816, A83 and Argyll Street, Lochgilphead should be used where possible.
