Warning on shellfish toxins

Argyll and Bute Council’s Environmental Health team, working with Food Standards Scotland, is issuing a warning on raised levels of shellfish toxins in Loch Striven

These are naturally occurring toxins which can accumulate in molluscs such as mussels, oysters, cockles and razor clams. When the toxins breach statutory limits harvesting ofaffected species is not allowed.
