Two football clubs from Argyll and Bute have been awarded the Scottish Football Association's (SFA) standard award.

Lochnell FC from Oban and Port Ellen Juniors FC from Islay have been working through the SFA Quality Mark Scheme criteria over the last few months with help and assistance from Argyll and Bute Council's Football Development Officer, Martin Rae.

The scheme supports and recognises the work of clubs that have the desire to be the very best they can be.

Increasing participation in football, driving high standards and increasing the development of the players, coaches and volunteers are the main aims the clubs have been working towards.
