A By-Election for the election of one Member for the Oban, North and Lorn Ward will take place on Thursday 18 February 2016. This follows the resignation of Councillor Duncan MacIntyre.

The Oban, North and Lorn Ward includes the areas surrounding Oban from Kilmelford to Bridge of Orchy, and has an electorate of just under 8,000 people.

Nominations from prospective candidates are invited from Wednesday 6 January to Monday 18 January 2016.
