Resurfacing works on the A814 at Finnart Oil Depot resume today (Monday 26th October)

A814 closed between Portincaple and Glen Douglas Road from Monday 26th October to Friday 30th October

Argyll and Bute Council is carrying out essential resurfacing works on the A814 at Finnart Oil Depot, starting today (Monday 26th October) as part of the 2015 roads capital reconstruction programme.

Area of work

Between Portincaple and Glen Douglas Road.

Road closure

The A814 will be closed during the work, with local access (access to Portincaple from the south and Glen Douglas from the north) being maintained at all times.

Traffic management

Traffic management operatives will be in place at Portincaple and Church Road, Arrochar to advise motorists and direct them to the diversion route via A817/A82/A83.

Timings

The initial phase took place between Monday 12th October and Friday 16th October with this second phase going ahead this week.

Scope of work

The old road surface will be removed and replaced.

Costs

The work will cost around £70,000.

Notifications

All properties in the affected area have been contacted directly in advance of work commencing.

Advance notification signs have been in place.
