EVERYONE loves a wedding – and Argyll and Bute is no exception, with over 1,000 couples choosing to get married here last year.

If you are planning a special ceremony in the future, then why not follow suit and take a look at what Argyll and Bute has to offer?  To make it easier for you, Argyll and Bute Council has produced its latest Civil Ceremonies guide, available online, from our Customer Service Points and at popular local wedding venues.

In the guide you can find out what’s involved in arranging different types of civil ceremony, from weddings to baby naming ceremonies.  There are contact details for the council’s friendly registration teams, information about legal requirements and a handy list of frequently asked questions.  Information about ceremony rooms in our towns, rural and island communities is also included. And on top of all this, the guide is packed with stunning images to show you just why those 1,000 couples chose Argyll and Bute as the setting for their special day.

Provost of Argyll and Bute, Councillor Len Scoullar, says that anyone choosing to have their special day here is assured of the warmest of welcomes.

He adds: “Those of us lucky enough to live here in Argyll and Bute know just how beautiful it is. Whether you already stay in the area or are thinking about coming here for your big day, you can rest assured that you will find the ideal location for your ceremony.
