The latest Great War commemoration exhibition from Argyll and Bute Council’s Library Service gives an account of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and their significant contribution on the battlefront. The 8th battalion, in particular, has strong connections with Dunoon.

The history of the regiment has been compiled by the Argylls’ Regimental Museum at Stirling Castle and it is supplemented with a fascinating insight into the training undertaken at camp in Bedford before the troops went to war.

The exhibition will be on display in Dunoon Library until 2nd June 2015 before touring other libraries in Argyll and Bute.
