Argyll and Bute Council have been awarded funding by the Scottish Government to deliver a range of energy efficiency measures to households in Islay.
The Home Energy Efficiency Programme for Scotland: Area Based Scheme (HEEPS: ABS) includes a range of measures – including internal and external wall insulation, loft insulation and underfloor insulation – will be offered to private owners and private tenants living in Council Tax Bands A, B, C, and also to some Band D properties who meet the specific eligibility criteria.
ALIenergy deliver the scheme on behalf of Argyll and Bute Council and will be holding a number of information events throughout the year and have arranged for letters to be sent out to relevant properties this week.
Argyll and Bute Council’s policy lead for Strategic Housing, Councillor Robin Currie, said, “Argyll and Bute Council is committed to tackling fuel poverty and the HEEPS: ABS programme is one of the ways in which we’re doing this.
“Since 2013, we have assisted over 700 properties and have helped make their homes more affordable and cheaper to heat.
“I would encourage local residents to get in touch with Home Energy Scotland or ALIenergy to find out how they can make their property more energy efficient.”
In order to register for home insulation measures through the HEEPS: ABS scheme we would first ask that you contact Home Energy Scotland (HES) free on 0808 808 2282. Home Energy Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government and their advisers will provide further information on the scheme and assess your eligibility for grant assistance to improve your property’s energy efficiency.
