The Queen’s Baton Relay is visiting all 32 Scottish Local Authorities for the XX Commonwealth Games and will be in Argyll and Bute on Sunday 13th July. The baton will travel over 170 miles from Appin to Benderloch,  Dunbeg, Oban, Kilmartin, Lochgilphead, Furnace, Inveraray and Strachur, finishing in Dunoon.

Argyll and Bute Council is looking for volunteers to take part in the event as stewards in each location.

Stewards will be required to help provide information and assistance to the public and, working in partnership and under the guidance of Police Scotland Officers, help ensure crowd safety.

Volunteers must be over 16, enthusiastic, enjoy working as part of a team, and have a “can-do” attitude. Prior experience of stewarding is not required. Training and briefing sessions will be provided.
