The Queen’s Baton Relay is coming to Argyll and Bute on Sunday 13 July and we are looking for community groups to join in celebrations and help deliver a fantastic day of sporting and cultural events.
The Relay offers the chance to cheer on local people as they carry the Baton, to join in the excitement of an international celebration, and to showcase Argyll and Bute to a global audience.
The council is asking people and community groups to get involved in their local events, for example by providing a come and try sports activity, a promotional stall or fundraising activity or offer other forms of entertainment such as music or arts.
We are also looking for people who could provide street entertainment as part of a tour on the day through Argyll and Bute. If you or your company would be interested in providing street entertainment please contact Fiona Blakey on 01631 569165.
The council is co-ordinating events and so is asking all organisations to complete a short form outlining the type of activity they wish to provide on the day. The council can advise on any requirements to be met.
For general enquiries regarding the Queens Baton relay please email: qbr@argyll-bute.gov.uk or tel: 01546 604464/01546 604232.
