Community groups are being encouraged to submit applications for the second round of funding from Argyll and Bute Council’s Third Sector Grants for 2014/15
The Third Sector Grants programme is aimed at supporting communities and vulnerable people, and helping to kick start new projects and events.
In April, a total of 72 organisations across Argyll and Bute benefitted from the Council’s Third Sector Grants programme. In Helensburgh and Lomond, 13 groups were awarded a total of £27,803 leaving £7,197 still to be allocated. In Oban, Lorn and the Isles, 20 groups were awarded a total of £31,700 leaving £3,300 still to be allocated.
In Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands, 24 groups were awarded a total of £30,182 leaving £4,818 still to be allocated and In Bute and Cowal 15 groups were awarded a total of £27,155 leaving £7,845 still to be allocated.
The closing date for the return of completed application forms for a decision at the local area committees in August is Monday 16 June 2014.
An incredible diversity of projects continue to be supported by the council’s third sector grants which support tremendous work being undertaken many groups and organisations across Argyll and Bute.
The Council is particularly keen to encourage new groups with fresh ideas. Advice and support on funding is available from the Council’s Community Development and Social Enterprise teams.
