Some lighting restored on Thursday

There is a major underground fault at the upper side of Nant Drive in Oban. Argyll and Bute Council staff are on site today (Monday) to begin significant cabling and tracking work,

The problem stems from the original cabling being made up of a 3-way joining system (sometimes called T-joints). This joining system makes it impossible to carry out accurate electrical testing.

As power from the whole area comes from one distribution pillar, with the help of Scottish and Southern Energy, we are planning to install new supply points which will minimise the impact of any future outages.

Work will continue until the lights are back on.
