South Kintyre Development Trust are holding an Open Day for the Campbeltown Town Hall Project on Tuesday 1st April from 1pm until 7pm.

This event will provide an opportunity for the local population to have their say on the updated plans for the refurbished Town Hall.

SKDT staff and members of the Project Team will be on hand to welcome, show people around and respond to questions from members of the public.

There will be displays from Coltart Earley Architects explaining the detailed plans for the project and looking at potential uses for the building.

Bill Coltart, the lead architect, will deliver three short presentations throughout the day at 1.30pm, 3.30pm and 5.30pm based around our vision for the Town Hall, an outline of the work completed to date as well as looking at various options for finishes etc.

Free tea, coffee and home-baking will be available to all who attend.

Eric Spence, Project Coordinator for the Town Hall Project said, "This is a great opportunity for the local people to have a look at the latest plans and designs for the revamped Town Hall and to raise any issues or concerns with the architect and the Project Team".

SKDT have been successful in obtaining a £1.7m funding package to acquire and redevelop the Town Hall. The Town Hall project aims to acquire, renovate and refurbish this unique building on behalf of the people of the area, bringing it back into full community use, accessible to all and with facilities fit for the 21st Century.

Construction and renovation work is due to begin onsite during June 2014 and expected to be completed by August 2015.
