A NEW online service introduced by Argyll and Bute Council makes it easier for people to manage their council tax accounts – and they could win an iPad in the process.
The new council tax online billing service makes it quicker and easier for people to find all the information they need about their council tax account online. It is completely secure, free and simple to use and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Signing up for the new service means that people can view a full statement of their council tax account, a list of payments made and due, any discount or exemption details and can print out copy bills if required. It also provides a swift and easy way of making and managing your council tax payments, and means that you can tell the council quickly about any change in your circumstances.
And for people who sign up to the new online billing system early – before 31st March 2014 – there is the chance to win a new iPad, provided by Gandlake Ltd, which hosts this online service for the council.
Argyll and Bute Council’s Policy Lead for Strategic IT, Councillor Aileen Morton, said: “We’re keen to make sure that it’s as easy as possible for people to keep in contact with us, to find out the kind of information that they need about services and to manage tasks like council tax payments.
"This new service is the latest in a range of improvements we’ve made to our online resources – all aimed at making it easier and quicker to deal with the council. It’s quick and easy to sign up, and I’d encourage people to register soon.”
To sign up and get your council tax bill for 2014/15 online, visit https://myaccount.argyll-bute.gov.uk and enter your council tax reference and email address. You will receive an activation code and from there you are ready to use the system.
