With the European Parliamentary elections and Oban South and the Isles local by-election taking place on Thursday 22 May, Argyll and Bute Council is urging voters to make sure they are registered to vote in time.

“People are talking about the elections, but if you’d like to have a say on who represents you by voting, you need to be registered to vote by the deadline of Tuesday 6 May”, said Returning Officer, Sally Loudon.

Polling cards have now been issued to everyone in Argyll and Bute registered to vote in the European Elections and Oban South and the Isles by-election.

If you are eligible to vote in either or both elections but have not received your polling card, or are unsure if you are registered to vote, please contact the Electoral Registration Office by calling 0800 9800 470.

Details of the elections and more information about registration and voting can be found at www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/elections or you can call the council’s Election Team on 01546 603264.
