Argyll and Bute Council’s Planning Protective Services and Licensing (PPSL) Committee met on 20 February 2013 and reached a number of decisions.

Permission was refused for one dwelling on land at Craobh Haven (12/00886/PP). This was on the grounds that the site lay within protected open space designated by the approved local plan,  the integrity of a woodland tree preservation order would be compromised, and  the proposal would be prejudicial to the draft Local Development Plan ( LDP). The LDP provides future opportunity to review development designations and protected open space at Croabh Haven on a more appropriate comprehensive basis.

An application for the redevelopment of the former Ossian Nursing Home at North Connel was continued for a local hearing to be convened next month to afford the applicant and objectors opportunity to present their cases prior to the determination of the application.

Permission for a temporary two year period was granted for the siting of storage containers at Willowview Community Care Centre, Oban, pending a more permanent storage solution being identified.
