Argyll and Bute Council has arranged for the opening this week of the new link road through Park Square between Longrow and Kinloch Road in Campbeltown.
Lead Councillor for Development, Environment and Infrastructure John Semple said “I am pleased that the new road is now open. It is part of the Kintyre Renewables Hub Project and will be the new main route into the centre of Campbeltown from the north. The new road will make it easier to transport wind turbine components and will see Campbeltown and Machrihanish develop as a centre for the renewable energy industry in Scotland.”
The public are reminded that the layout changes mean that there is no through road from Lochend Street onto Longrow and there will be one way access from Longrow onto Lochend Street.
This means that anyone driving from Tesco to the Roading, would drive along Lochend Street, turn left onto Kinloch Road, turn right onto Aquilibrium Avenue and on to Longrow/Millknowe.
