Argyll and Bute Council’s second 16+ Learning Choices Event will take place in Islay High School on Friday 30 November from 12.00 noon until 16.30pm. 16+ young people, parents and local community members are welcome to visit the event from 15.30pm until 16.30pm.

There will be representatives from Argyll College who will be able to discuss progression routes from school into further and higher education learning options. Skills Development Scotland will be on hand to offer careers, information, advice and guidance. Argyll and Bute Council, MacTaggart Leisure and Highlands and Islands Airports will also be at the event.

Head of Education at Argyll and Bute Council, Carol Evans, said, “The aim of this event is to make sure young people have access to relevant 16+ learning choice opportunities including employment opportunities available on Islay. We want young people to secure a positive destination after leaving secondary education.”

Led by Active School’s, young people will take part in a series of workshops covering CV Skills and team building. They will also have the opportunity to browse around the 16+ Learning Choices market place where stall holders will discuss what their organisation can offer to help and support local young people.
