The nomination period for local government elections on 3 May 2012 is now open, with anyone interested in standing for election advised to request a nomination pack or contact the council’s election office as soon as possible. 

Thirty six councillors will be elected on 3 May within the 11 wards that make up the council, and will serve for a period of five years before the next elections take place.

Nomination forms and guidance for prospective candidates are available online at www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/elections , at local council customer service points or by calling the election office on 01546 603264.  The last date for nominations to be received by the returning officer is 4.00pm on 29 March.
