Argyll and Bute Council has agreed to carry out a review into the future of three Dunoon primary schools.

At its meeting on 28 June the Council agreed a review into other options for the new build, refurbishment, amalgamation or otherwise of Dunoon, St Mun’s and Kirn Primary Schools. This review will also include Clyde Cottage Nursery.

At the same meeting, the council agreed to go ahead with plans to provide a new school for Campbeltown.

Lead Councillor for Education and Lifelong Learning Michael Breslin said, “The review of the Dunoon primary schools is a significant issue for the community and I’m pleased the full council has agreed this process. As regards Campbeltown I’m pleased to say that a new school for the town is still on track.”
