Argyll and Bute Council’s coaching champions event on 4 and 5 February is now only three weeks away.  Courses are filling up fast but you still have time to sign up before the deadline of Monday 30 January.

Oban will play host this year to the fifth annual sports coaching event which has grown in popularity.  This year 56 different courses ranging from badminton to shinty are being offered.   New courses for 2012 include triathlon, Nordic walking, watersports, swimming master classes for coaches, gymnastics, archery, gym instructor and table tennis.  Some of the courses offered are for familiar sports but others have been introduced to encourage diversity in sport in Argyll and Bute and challenge people to try something different.  The deadline to book your place on a course is Monday 30 January.

Spokesperson for third sector and communities Councillor Rory Colville said, “We hope that this year the coaching champions event will be bigger and better than ever before.  Course bookings are already up on this time last year.  We have expert sports coaches ready to share their knowledge and the biggest number of courses we have ever offered.  Coaching champions provides the tools but it is the inspirational people who want to lead others to fulfil their dreams who provide the magic ingredient.”
