New community councillors in Helensburgh

HELENSBURGH has two new community councillors following a by-election on Thursday 6 December.

Votes were counted at Argyll and Bute Council headquarters in Kilmory, and Margaret Currie and Norman Muir were elected to fill two vacant seats on Helensburgh Community Council.

The full results were:

Kevin Craddock: 612
Margaret Currie: 895, elected
Norman Muir: 690, elected
Daniel Wright: 515

Total ballot papers counted: 1,617
Total ballot papers rejected: 56
