Councillor Alister MacAlister has died following a long illness.

Argyll and Bute Council Chief Executive Sally Loudon expressed her sadness on learning about Councillor MacAlister’s death, saying: “Councillor MacAlister was a man who wanted only the best for the people he represented.  A councillor since 2007, his presence will be missed most in the Dunoon area but we will all miss his sense of humour in the council chamber.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”
