Drivers have been warned that the A82 trunk road between Tarbet and Crianlarich will be closed to through traffic for five nights next week.

Scotland TranServ, which will carry out the work on behalf of Transport Scotland, has announced that the £20,000 scheme to improve safety and drainage will close the road from 10pm to 6am from Sunday, September 11 to Thursday, September 15 inclusive.

The road will be closed between the A82/A83 junction at Tarbet and the A82/A85 junction at Crianlarich, with emergency and local access maintained.

Councillor Duncan MacIntyre, Argyll and Bute’s spokesperson for transport and infrastructure, said: “This is obviously a key route, and the diversion is a lengthy one.

“I would urge drivers to plan their journeys so as not to coincide with the closures, and hope that the vast majority of them are able to do so.”

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys and pay attention to any advisory signs which will be in place throughout the works. For real time journey planning information visit www.trafficscotland.org
