Scotland TranServ has announced that the A82 between Tarbet and Crianlarich will be closed for 10 nights, starting this Sunday (October 30).

The road will be closed between 10pm and 6am on Sunday to Thursday nights to allow safety improvement and drainage works to take place. The closure will be between the A82/A83 junction at Tarbet and the A82/A85 junction at Crianlarich.

Scotland TranServ, which will carry out the works on behalf of Transport Scotland, has pledged to minimise disruption to local residents. Emergency services will have access at all times.

In a separate scheme, also carried out by Scotland TranServ, carriageway maintenance on the A828 at Connel Bridge will close the road for one night, from 10pm to 6am on Wednesday, November 2.

The closure will affect both vehicles and pedestrians, although access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.

Argyll and Bute’s spokesperson for transport and infrastructure, Councillor Duncan MacIntyre, said: “These are obviously key routes, and the diversions are lengthy. I would urge drivers to plan their journeys so as not to coincide with the closures, and hope that the vast majority of them are able to do so.”
