A further public drop in session for Oban’s CHORD project will be held on Tuesday, November 22.

The event will take place in The Rowantree Hotel on George Street from 11am to 7pm.Maps and plans will be available on the day, showing the options which are being considered in more detail for the Oban CHORD project.

Members of the project team will be on hand to discuss these options and the work already underway.

The scheme being taken forward by CHORD in the Oban area aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the town centre, develop the transport interchange and reconfigure the Oban Bay/Harbour area to better meet the needs of users.

It will also refresh the Oban Action Plan which will set out the context for these projects in an overarching action plan for the town’s future.

Councillor Duncan MacIntyre, chair of the Oban CHORD project board, urged all those with an interest in the town’s future to drop into the Rowantree on 22nd if at all possible.

“It is critical to the overall success of the Oban CHORD project that it reflects the views and aspirations of the town’s residents and businesses, and events such as this are aimed at ensuring that people have plenty of opportunity to make their voices heard,” he said.

“This is a great chance for local people to get more involved, and I would encourage anyone who would like more information or who would like to quiz the project team about any aspect of the plan to come along on the day.”
