The result of the by-election for the Oban North and Lorn ward has been declared with Louise Glen-Lee of the Scottish National Party being elected to become a Member of Argyll and Bute Council.

Council Leader Dick Walsh said, “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Councillor Glen-Lee to Argyll and Bute Council.  I have worked with Louise in her capacity as a journalist and I am now looking forward to working with her as a colleague.

“Councillor Glen-Lee takes the place of Councillor Donald John Macdonald who sadly died this summer.   He was a well respected councillor who was passionate about local government and I am sure that Councillor Glen-Lee brings the same enthusiasm and drive with her.”
