Argyll and Bute Council’s getting to work on several roads in Bute and Cowal. It’s part of the council’s £15.6 million which will be spent improving the road network the next three years. £7 million is earmarked for 2011-2012.
Seven different roads in Cowal are due for upgrading and the work will be finished by mid August. The roads include Hillfoot St in Dunoon and the Balliebeg Bridge at Strachur.
On Bute the circular road and the Rhubodach Ferry road will both be worked on and ready by 16th June.
Executive Director of Development and Infrastructure, Sandy Mactaggart said “this work will make a real difference to the communities of Bute and Cowal. Some of the work has already started and will continue over the summer. The council is committed to improving the area’s roads for local people, businesses and tourists.”
