Council workers have made it a priority to restore festive decorations to towns across the region.

Christmas trees in Oban and Tarbert were blown over in Thursday’s high winds. Many lamps were broken or sustained electrical damage.

But council workers are determined to repair and replace the lights, bringing seasonal cheer back to Argyll.

Councillor Duncan MacIntyre, spokesperson for transport and infrastructure, is pleased the teams were able to fix the decorations. He explains:

“Our teams have been clearing up fallen trees all night, and were happy to pick up Christmas trees as well. It’s great that as well as cleaning up the storm damage we’ve been able to bring back some Christmas spirit to the towns which were worst hit.”
