Have your say on Tarbert to Kennacraig active travel plans

We are inviting people to have their say on a proposed walking and cycling route that will link the ferry terminals at Tarbert and Kennacraig, making it safer and easier for more people to choose to walk and cycle to nearby services and facilities.

The council is seeking feedback from the local communities concerned and, with support from HITRANS and Transport Scotland, hosted a public drop-in consultation event at The Templar Arts and Leisure Centre, Harbour Street, Tarbert, between 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday 10 September for the public to see the emerging concept plan.

The council’s Policy Lead for Roads, Transport and Amenity Services, Councillor John Armour, said:  “The proposed link between Tarbert and Kennacraig builds on the council’s ongoing development of walking and cycling routes in the area.

“The project demonstrates the council’s commitment to improving rural communities’ resilience by improving accessibility for everyone and addressing the challenges of climate change through sustainable travel options. I would urge everyone affected to tell us their views in our online consultation so we can identify their needs to help shape our walking and cycling travel routes.”

The Scottish Government has funded the first feasibility stage of the project via the Places for Everyone Programme, administered by Sustrans.

If you didn’t manage to make it along to the event on 10 September in Tarbert you can still view the information in the virtual exhibition room which will be open until 30 October to give you the opportunity to view the initial project proposals, and give us your feedback -
