The Minutes of the meeting of the Short Life Working Group on Argyll and Bute Council Visitor Levy held on 1 October 2024 were approved as a correct record.

Report by Executive Director with responsibility for Development and Economic Growth

The Short Life Working Group gave consideration to a report providing an update on the preparatory work for the draft Argyll and Bute Council Visitor Levy Scheme.

Decision

The Short Life Working Group –

1.    noted the content of the report;

2.    noted the activity and timescales outlined in Table 1 of the report;

3.    endorsed the requirement for a short paper to go to the full Argyll and Bute Council meeting on 21st November 2024 seeking more time to conclude the pre-consultation activity and preparatory work, with the draft Argyll and Bute Council Visitor Levy Scheme and associated papers being considered at a Special Council meeting in December 2024 (date to be confirmed); and

4.    noted the latest draft Argyll and Bute Council Visitor Levy Scheme and initial impact assessment work outlined in Appendices 1 and 2.
