Having noted the absence of Councillor McCabe, the Committee Manager advised that the Rothesay Common Good Fund meeting was inquorate.

 

The Committee Manager further advised that following a decision made by the Council at the meeting on Thursday 21 April 2016, a delegation had been given to the Executive Director with responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Support (or his representative) to determine applications in consultation with Ward 8 Members, and the decision recorded is on that basis.

The Trustees agreed to appoint Councillor Reeni Kennedy Boyle as Chair for the meeting.

Apologies for absence were intimated on behalf of Councillor Liz McCabe.

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Minutes:

Councillor Peter Wallace declared a non-financial interest in item 5(a) of the Agenda (Bute Arts Society) as he had been involved in a Choir performance with the applicants. Councillor Wallace advised that he did not consider that he had a relevant connection and would remain in the meeting.

Minutes:

The Minutes of the meeting of the Rothesay Common Good Fund held on 3 March 2026 were approved as a correct record subject to Councillor Peter Wallace advising that in relation to his declaration of interest under item 3 of the Minute, that it was him who had a connection to the Bute Arts Society through his involvement with the Choir, not a family member.

The Rothesay Common Good Fund resolved in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the press and public for the following item of business on the grounds that it was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 respectively of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

The Trustees gave consideration to an application submitted by Bute Arts Society to support their Winter Performance Programme.

 

Decision

 

It was agreed to award £2000 to Bute Arts Society to support their Winter Performance Programme.
