Minutes:

Apologies for absence were intimated on behalf of Councillor Donald Kelly.

 

Having noted the absence of Councillor Donald Kelly, the Committee Manager advised that the Campbeltown Good Fund meeting was inquorate and as such was a consultation meeting.

 

The Committee Manager further advised the remaining Ward 1 members that following a decision made by the Council at the meeting on Thursday 25 June 2015, a delegation had been given by the Executive Director of Customer Services (or his representative) to determine applications in consultation with Ward 1 members, and the decision recorded is on that basis.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to a report detailing the current position of the investment transaction activity for the current period.

 

Decision

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to note the statement and balance of income available.

Youth Impact

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Youth Impact for funding towards providing a 6 week programme of essential life skill sessions.

 

Decision

 

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award the group £990.00.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from South Kintyre Development Trust for funding for materials to allow exhibitions to be displayed within the Campbeltown Town Hall and South Kintyre Development Trust Hall. 

 

Decision

 

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award the group £440.00.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Kintyre Primary Schools Badminton Association for funding to assist with the costs of the South Kintyre Primary Schools Badminton Competition 2020.

 

Decision

 

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award the group £250.00.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Kintyre Amenity Trust for funding to assist with the conversion of the old church kitchen into a laundry facility.

Members gave consideration to the application from Kintyre Amenity Trust for funding to assist with the cost of commissioning an Asbestos Management Plan.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Campbeltown and District Juvenile Football Association for funding to assist with a football exchange trip to Germany.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from CGS 4 Gambia for funding towards transportation costs.

Having noted that an application had been received after the closing date from the Campbeltown Christmas Lights Group, and the next meeting was not scheduled to take place until 4 March 2020, the Chair ruled and the Committee agreed to consider the application at this meeting.

Campbeltown Christmas Lights Group

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Campbeltown Christmas Lights Group for funding towards costs incurred during the handover of responsibility for the Christmas lights in Campbeltown. 

 

Decision

 

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award the group £1,000.00 to cover the cost of insurance. 

6.

Any other competent business

Minutes:

Councillor Armour highlighted the difficulties of local charity Shopper Aide in securing funding from other sources to enable them to continue to offer their services throughout the Kintyre area.  Discussion took place in respect of the criteria for the Common Good Fund and in particular to the assistance with core funding.  Councillor Armour agreed to furnish the group with the contact details of the Community Development Officer, who could advise them on other sources of funding available and assist with the completion of application forms.

The next meeting of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 4 March 2019 within Campbeltown.
